Science and Biosafety: A Strategic Priority

Astana recently hosted a meeting between representatives of the National Coalition in support of constitutional reform and the staff of QazBioPharm National Holding. During the event, Kanat Estek, a deputy of the Astana City Maslikhat, and Rustem Aitbayev, Director of City Polyclinic No. 8, outlined the key provisions of the draft updated Constitution and discussed the role of the upcoming political campaign in the nation's development.

QazBioPharm National Holding, whose activities are focused on ensuring biological safety and developing the production of domestic biopharmaceuticals, holds a critical position in Kazakhstan's strategic security system. The Holding employs more than 1,200 specialists, nearly half of whom are researchers and experts with advanced academic degrees. In this regard, the meeting placed special emphasis on the integration of science and industry. The proposed constitutional reforms are expected to strengthen the potential of domestic scientists – a necessary condition for achieving technological sovereignty and enhancing the country's competitiveness in the field of innovation.

The discussion also highlighted the significance of constitutional guarantees in healthcare and education. The social mechanisms established by the reform are designed to serve as a foundation for social stability and an improved quality of life for all citizens. Furthermore, these changes aim to reinforce the social protection of professionals working in the fields of science and medicine.

In conclusion, participants emphasized the importance of the nationwide referendum scheduled for March 15. This event provides citizens with an opportunity to participate in state governance and shape the future of the country. The staff of QazBioPharm National Holding noted the importance of the proposed reforms for the scientific community and expressed their readiness to participate in the voting process to support the sustainable development of Kazakhstan.
