The Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation summed up the results of the national competition for awards, which for many years has supported talented and initiative-driven youth in Kazakhstan contributing to the development of science, education, and innovation.

Among the award winners is Maksat Zhabagin, Head of the Human Genetics Laboratory at the National Center for Biotechnology, Candidate of Biological Sciences, PhD.

The scientist’s work, titled “Development of a National Genetic Database for Theoretical and Applied Advancement of Forensic DNA Identification in Kazakhstan”, received high praise from the expert jury and was recognized as a significant contribution to the development of domestic genetics and biotechnology.
