Tokayev: Increasing the Variety and Volume of Medicines Produced in Kazakhstan Is a Strategic Task — turkystan.kz

The government must establish a new system to monitor the quality and scope of medical services using artificial intelligence technologies, reports the international newspaper Túrkistan.

The President stated this in his Address to the People of Kazakhstan, according to turkystan.kz.

“Medical facilities in our country are gradually being modernized. All facilities are being upgraded — from rural feldsher-midwife stations to specialized hospitals.

Within the framework of the national project ‘Modernization of Healthcare in Rural Areas,’ 540 facilities have been built, and by the end of this year, another 115 facilities will be put into operation. In urban areas, several major healthcare facilities have been launched. For example, an oncology center was opened in Astana, and the Scientific Center for Infectious Diseases in Almaty.

At the same time, previously built multi-profile hospitals in various regions must be put into operation without bureaucratic delays. It is also necessary to continue constructing new facilities. Private investment should be attracted within the framework of public-private partnership mechanisms. This will prevent citizens from having to move to Astana.

Work should also be intensified in other areas. In particular, special attention should be paid to the development of the pharmaceutical industry. Increasing the variety and volume of medicines produced in Kazakhstan is a strategic task. This was especially evident during the pandemic.”
