In this regard, on November 1, 2023, during the official visit of the President of France Emmanuel Macron to Kazakhstan, QazBioPharm National Holding JSC and Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health (BIAH) entered into a strategic partnership to produce a foot-and-mouth disease vaccine.
According to the terms of the partnership, BIAH supplies raw materials for the production of the foot-and-mouth disease vaccine, and the Holding carries out the final stages of production, including formulation, bottling, packaging and sales.
BIAH will cooperate with the Holding, providing the necessary raw materials, as well as technical and scientific support for the production process.
This form of cooperation allows using the strengths of both companies to ensure efficient vaccine production, which, in turn, can help provide the market with a high-quality drug to combat infectious diseases.
As a result of the cooperation, Kazakhstan has the opportunity to become a foot-and-mouth disease-free country, comply with OIE standards, which will allow the country to export meat to foreign markets, including the EU countries.
