Olga Viktorovna is a specialist in molecular biology, genetic engineering, as well as veterinary mycology and virology. She has made a significant contribution to the implementation of national and international scientific and technical programs and projects aimed at developing tools and methods for diagnosing and preventing especially dangerous diseases in humans, animals, and birds, as well as studying the genomes of their pathogens.

O.V. Chervyakova is one of the developers of Kazakhstan’s vaccines against COVID-19, including the inactivated vaccine QazCovid-in (QazVac).

She is a co-author of more than 150 scientific works, including 23 publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals indexed in the databases of Clarivate Analytics (Web of Science) and Scopus, included in quartiles Q1–Q4 according to the Journal Citation Reports by Clarivate Analytics, or with CiteScore percentiles ranging from 14 to 95 in the Scopus database.

In 2012, O.V. Chervyakova became a laureate of the Prize in Science and Technology of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy for her work “Development of the technology for producing the first domestic vaccine against the A/H1N1 pandemic influenza, conducting preclinical and clinical trials, and its registration.”

For her contribution to the development of science in Kazakhstan, she was awarded the badge “For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (2017), the medal “Halyk algysy” (People’s Gratitude) in 2020, and the Order of “Kurmet” in 2021.
