Vyacheslav Ogai

Vyacheslav Borisovich Ogai is a Candidate of Biological Sciences, a graduate of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University. In 2000, he completed his master’s degree in Cell Biology at the Pushchino State University (Pushchino, Moscow Region, Russia). In 2003, he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis in Biophysics at the Institute of Cell Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

He began his professional career in 1998 as a research engineer, and then as a junior researcher at the Institute of Cell Biophysics of the Pushchino Scientific Center of Biological Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences. From 2004 to 2006, he worked as a research fellow at the College of Natural Sciences, Seoul National University (Seoul, South Korea). From 2006 to 2009, he held the position of senior researcher at the Research Institute of Basic Sciences at the same university. From 2009 to 2011, he worked as a leading researcher at the Laboratory of Immunobiotechnology and Immunochemistry at the National Center of Biotechnology. From 2011 to 2022, he headed the Stem Cell Laboratory at the same center.

Throughout his career, Professor Ogai has been the scientific supervisor of 10 research projects and one scientific and technical program. He participated in the foresight project “System Analysis and Forecasting in Science and Technology until 2030” in the direction of “National Health” as a scientific expert. From 2018 to 2019, he was a member of the National Scientific Council on the priority “Life Sciences and Health”.

He has published over 80 scientific papers, including 49 articles in journals indexed in the international databases Web of Science and Scopus. He is also the author of 10 patents, including two international patents. His h-index according to Clarivate Analytics (Web of Science) is 15.

Vyacheslav Borisovich was a fellow of the Brain Korea 21 program for young scientists, funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Korea (2004-2006). For his active scientific work, he was awarded an honorary diploma from the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2009), the badge “For Contribution to the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (2016) and the badge “For Merits in the Development of Healthcare” (2022).
