QazBioPharm National Holding held a meeting with the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On March 14, 2025, a working meeting was held at JSC “National Holding QazBioPharm” with the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erlan Nysanbayev.
The event was attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, leading scientists of the Holding, as well as the Chairman of the Board of the Kazakh Research Institute of Forestry and Agroforestry named after A.N. Bukeikhan.
During the discussions, key topics included the development of the most resilient plant species, greening of the dried seabed of the Aral Sea, the creation of a “green belt,” and measures to prevent the spread of phytopathologies. Special attention was given to the potential of genetic engineering and the development of crops resistant to drought and soil salinity.
The General Director of the Holding, Yergali Abduraimov, presented the main results of the company’s scientific and production activities, as well as plans for expanding the production of biopharmaceuticals.
During the meeting, specialists from the National Biotechnology Center showcased advanced developments and research in biotechnology aimed at restoring ecosystems.
Following the discussions, the delegation visited the laboratories and greenhouse of the National Biotechnology Center, where they were introduced to the latest advancements in plant breeding and genetic engineering.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Erlan Nysanbayev emphasized the importance of collaboration between science and government institutions in addressing environmental challenges and shaping sustainable environmental strategies.
Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Science and Innovation, Kunsulu Zakariya, highlighted the high scientific potential of the Holding, noting that not only are research projects being conducted, but their practical applications are already being implemented. She also stressed the importance of international partnerships, exchange of advanced technologies, and the introduction of best practices. Discussions also touched upon the dissemination of knowledge and skills in the regions of Kazakhstan, which will help scale scientific achievements and contribute to the industry’s development.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation in the fields of ecology and biotechnology. Participants emphasized the need to integrate scientific developments into state programs for environmental protection and ecosystem restoration.
