QazBioPharm and Beijing Genomics Institute Host Innovative Forum on Genomic and Omics Technologies
On July 18, 2024, JSC “National Holding QazBioPharm” and Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI) jointly organized an innovation forum titled “Implementation and Development of Innovative Genomic and Omics Technologies.”
The forum brought together prominent participants, including Kunsulu Daltovna Zakarya, Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan on Science and Innovation, Akmara Sharipbaevna Alnazarova, Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Yin Ye, CEO of BGI Group, leading scientists and experts, as well as representatives from public and private organizations.

1. Opening of the Astana Genetic Center (AGC)
The event marked the launch of the Astana Genetic Center (AGC), a genomic laboratory based at the National Biotechnology Center, a subsidiary of QazBioPharm. The AGC will focus on advanced genetic research and the development of innovative treatment methods.
2. Government Support
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Health, Akmara Alnazarova, emphasized the importance of government support for scientific research and innovation. She highlighted the need to create favorable conditions for the commercialization of research outcomes to promote sustainable development in biotechnology.
