Meeting with the Ambassador of France at the National Holding “QazBioPharm”
On September 9, 2025, a meeting was held at the National Holding “QazBioPharm” with His Excellency Mr. Sylvain Giogé, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From the Kazakh side, the meeting was attended by the CEO of the Holding, Mr. Yergali Abdurayimov, his deputies, as well as heads of departments and divisions of the Holding.
During the visit, the Ambassador was briefed on the activities of the Holding and its subsidiaries. The CEO presented the key areas of work, emphasizing the advantages of localizing pharmaceutical production in Kazakhstan and the opportunities for expanding international cooperation.
Mr. Sylvain Giogé highlighted the importance of the recent visit of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan to France, in which the Holding also participated. During that visit, promising areas of cooperation with leading international companies such as Sanofi, Boehringer Ingelheim, as well as French enterprises, were discussed.
During the negotiations, the parties considered the following issues:
development of joint projects in the field of vaccine production;
training and internships for personnel in accordance with international standards, including at Sanofi production sites;
opportunities for applying a cluster approach and exchanging experience between Kazakh scientists and international research centers;
expanding cooperation between the relevant ministries of the two countries in science, biological safety, and pharmaceuticals.
As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue working on specific initiatives that will contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the scientific and pharmaceutical sectors.
In addition, on September 8, 2025, the Holding was visited by the Director of the French consortium La Salle Blanche (BIOGuard Group – MEDIMAGE), which unites experts in controlled environments, medical imaging, and oncology in partnership with Siemens Healthineers and Varian. The consortium has international experience in designing and constructing hospital platforms, P4-level laboratories, pharmaceutical production facilities, and oncology centers across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
Representatives of La Salle Blanche expressed their interest in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan, including the establishment of cleanrooms, the development of oncology and pharmaceutical capacities, training of medical and engineering personnel, as well as the launch of a joint industrial project for pharmaceutical production in Kazakhstan.
