Kazakhstan Presents Biopharmaceutical Developments to International Delegation at QazBioPharm

On May 30, 2025, as part of an official visit to Kazakhstan, JSC “National Holding QazBioPharm” hosted an international delegation consisting of representatives from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO), and national intellectual property offices from China, Indonesia, Morocco, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and other CIS countries. The delegation was accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The delegation included prominent international experts in the fields of intellectual property, innovation, and science — among them Asan Khabip, Director of the WIPO Department for Transition and Developed Countries; Ilya Gribkov, Head of the Section for Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Eastern Europe; Grigory Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office; as well as official representatives from CNIPA (China), DGIP (Indonesia), MoroccoAI, and other organizations.

The management of QazBioPharm presented Kazakhstan’s achievements in the field of biopharmaceuticals and shared key scientific developments and their commercialization prospects.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the National Scientific Biotechnology Laboratory, along with laboratories specializing in proteomics and mass spectrometry, and plant biotechnology and breeding.

The delegation showed particular interest in Kazakhstan’s experience in vaccine development and production during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as in current projects related to biological safety and pharmaceutical innovation.

EAPO President Grigory Ivliev noted:

“Kazakhstan has significant potential in biotechnology. We were especially interested in developments in the field of oncohematology. The Eurasian Patent Office is ready to cooperate in order to help bring Kazakhstani technologies to the global market as quickly as possible.”

This working visit marked an important step in strengthening international scientific and technological cooperation and promoting Kazakhstan’s biopharmaceutical solutions on the global stage.
