Kazakhstan–Morocco: New Areas of Cooperation in Biological Safety and Scientific Research

On November 7, 2025, an online meeting was held between QazBioPharm National Holding JSC, the Research Institute for Biological Safety Problems LLP, and the Pasteur Institute (Institut Pasteur du Maroc).
The event was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Morocco.

The purpose of the collaboration is to strengthen partnerships and exchange experience in epidemiology, prevention, and control of infectious diseases, as well as analytical data on infections and their pathogens posing risks to human and animal health.

The discussions took place in a constructive and productive atmosphere. As a result, the parties reached preliminary agreements on signing a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of biosafety and infectious disease research.

As is well known, the Pasteur Institute in Morocco is the country’s leading national center for biomedical research and public health. Being part of the international Pasteur Institutes network, it conducts monitoring of infectious diseases, produces vaccines and serums, and provides training for highly qualified specialists. The Institute has recognized expertise in virology and bacteriology and possesses broad capabilities for conducting BSL-3-level biosafety research.
