Kazakhstan–France Business Forum: QazBioPharm Presented Strategic Priorities of the Sector

On May 28, 2025, the Kazakhstan–France Business Forum was held in Astana, bringing together more than 300 representatives of government bodies, business structures, and the expert community from both countries.

The event served as a key platform for discussing the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.

Among the participants were representatives of leading French companies such as Sanofi, Schneider Electric, EDF, Veolia, Limagrain, Egis, Orano, Danone, as well as Kazakhstani institutions, including the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Holding “QazBioPharm.”

Ergali Abdurayimov, CEO of JSC “National Holding QazBioPharm”, spoke at a thematic session dedicated to pharmaceuticals and localization of production. He presented the scientific and production potential of the Holding, emphasizing its strategic role in ensuring biological safety and developing the domestic biopharmaceutical industry.

The forum followed up on the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to France in November 2024, and was aimed at expanding business cooperation, launching new investment projects, and strengthening ties between the business communities of both countries.

As a result of the healthcare panel session, seven memoranda of cooperation were signed between the Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan and leading French companies, universities, and international organizations. These documents cover localization of pharmaceutical production, the introduction of innovative diagnostic solutions, and the exchange of scientific and educational expertise.
