Kazakhstan and Mongolia strengthen economic partnership

On September 5, 2025, the Second Meeting of the Kazakhstan–Mongolia Business Council was held in Astana. The event served as a key platform for discussing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and launching new joint initiatives.

The Council focused on issues related to expanding mutual trade, developing industrial cooperation, and improving transport and logistics routes.

The meeting brought together representatives of government bodies and the business community of Kazakhstan and Mongolia, including Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Mongolia Almas Seitakynov, Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan Murat Karimsakov, Vice Minister of Agriculture Yermek Kenzhekhanuly, as well as Chairman of the Great State Khural of Mongolia Dashzegviin Amarbaysgalan and President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia Lkhagvajav Baatarjav.

Special attention was given to industrial cooperation: Kazakh metallurgical companies are actively supplying products for Mongolia’s mining sector and mechanical engineering. In addition, discussions addressed the development of Kazakhstan as a transit and logistics hub in the region.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were signed between the insurance associations of the two countries, as well as between several Kazakh and Mongolian companies.

The Council’s participants also included representatives of government structures, industry associations, and leading companies of Kazakhstan and Mongolia. Among them was the Director General of the National Holding “QazBioPharm,” Yergali Abdurayimov.
