As part of the Kazakhstan–France Business Forum held in Astana, a number of documents aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation were signed with the participation of the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akmaral Alnazarova, the French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Citizens Abroad Laurent Saint-Martin, and representatives of leading French companies such as Sanofi, Servier, Meridiam, Ellipse Projects, Scaleo, and C3Medical.

During the forum, discussions were held with more than 30 French companies regarding the development of partnerships in healthcare, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, scientific research, infrastructure development, technical modernization, internship programs for medical specialists, and the organization of joint educational initiatives.

The signed documents include:

  • A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Sanofi, outlining cooperation in pharmaceutical production and scientific research;
  • A similar memorandum with Servier, focused on improving access to innovative medicines;
  • An agreement between the Ministry of Healthcare, the French Development Agency (AFD), and Expertise France, aimed at implementing projects related to infrastructure and technical assistance;
  • A memorandum with C3Medical, covering cooperation in oncology screening and telemedicine.

Special attention was given to the issue of human resource development. Astana Medical University signed a memorandum with the French Higher Institute of Psychomotor Rehabilitation. In addition, Paris-Saclay University signed two documents on scientific and educational cooperation with medical universities in Astana and Karaganda. These agreements provide for academic exchange, the preparation of joint scientific publications, internship programs, and collaborative educational activities.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to the full and effective implementation of the agreements reached and expressed their readiness to engage in systematic and substantive cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.

According to Akmaral Alnazarova, the Kazakhstan–France Business Forum is an important step toward expanding cooperation and will open up new opportunities for developing and implementing joint initiatives aimed at improving public health.

It should be noted that the French Republic has long been a strategic partner of Kazakhstan, with cooperation in medicine and public health occupying a prominent place on the bilateral agenda.
