Main Directions and Objectives:

• Conducting epizootiological monitoring, forecasting, risk assessment, and management of the occurrence and spread of particularly dangerous, zoonotic, and emerging infections within the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Researching and improving tools and methods for diagnosing, preventing infectious and non-infectious diseases, treating sick livestock, and developing technologies for producing animal health protection products.
• Developing methods for controlling, assessing the quality of, and ensuring the food safety of livestock and crop products.
• Developing and implementing a system of anti-epizootic measures for the prevention and elimination of infectious and non-infectious animal diseases (national programs to combat animal diseases in Kazakhstan).
• Scientific substantiation of veterinary regulatory documents, including those aimed at achieving the status of a territory in the Republic of Kazakhstan free from particularly dangerous infections (ensuring the biological safety of Kazakhstan).

Scientific and Production Activities:

• Studying the genetic structure of animal disease pathogens.
• Researching the genetic variability of infectious disease pathogens.
• Investigating immunobiological indicators in animal diseases.
• Developing scientifically-based systems for anti-epizootic measures.
• Developing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive preparations.
• Providing scientific support for the veterinary well-being of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Creating tools and methods to ensure ecological and food safety.
• Providing scientific-methodological and practical assistance to economic entities.
• Developing strategies to combat infectious diseases.
• Implementing scientific developments.
